Our Track Record: Long-Term Sourcing Partnerships

china sourcing case studies

Asia Supply Source helps international businesses source custom products from China. Most of our longest partnerships started with a single small order. Here’s how those one-off projects grew into multi-year, multi-category supply relationships.

From a Single Keychain to an 8-Year Merchandise Program

Client: An authorized distributor for a premium European motorcycle brand

The client started with one simple item — custom keychains. Over time, the needs grew more complex. When they wanted a custom belt bag, they had a design concept but no idea which material would work best.

What we did:

  • Delivered the first keychain order on time and as specified
  • Sourced and sampled 5 different materials for the belt bag so the client could choose with confidence
  • Produced 5–10 samples per round for cap orders until every detail was right
  • Managed the full program across lanyards, caps, towels, aluminium bottles, belt bags, sticker sheets and string bags

The result: What began as one keychain became a full branded merchandise program — approximately USD 200,000–300,000 in annual sales at its peak, sustained for nearly 8 years.

We don’t just take orders. We solve product problems and scale with you.

12 Years, Two Countries, Every Category a Hotel Needs

Client: A luxury international hotel brand — projects in East Africa and West Africa

Hotel buyers source dozens of scattered categories — guest amenities, gifts, decoration, even maintenance supplies. Managing a different supplier for each one is a logistical nightmare.

What we did:

  • Began with a single small order: custom drink coasters
  • Progressively took on more categories — gift cups, notebooks, PVC wristbands, room amenities, stage lighting, hotel decoration and maintenance supplies
  • Consolidated orders across suppliers into single shipments, and re-packed or re-assembled items to spec where needed
  • Became the client’s single sourcing window, so they stopped coordinating multiple vendors

The result: A 12-year partnership and counting. When the same buyer moved to a new property in West Africa, they brought us along — and referred us to other hotels.

One window, many suppliers — consolidated for you.

Seasonal Merchandise for a Global Beverage Brand

Client: A major global beverage brand (via their promotional agency)

The client needed seasonal and holiday merchandise — Christmas stockings, Halloween spiders and webs, and other themed decorations — on tight campaign deadlines.

What we did:

  • Grew from a simple candy bag into full seasonal programs
  • Coordinated multiple product types for holiday campaigns
  • When a brief’s timeline was genuinely too tight to meet properly, we said so — rather than over-promise and under-deliver

The result: 2–3 years of recurring seasonal orders.

We’d rather tell you the truth about timing than risk your launch.

Quality You Can Verify

Product quality and compliance requirements vary depending on the product, destination market, and buyer’s specifications.

At Asia Supply Source, we work with suppliers to understand and communicate these requirements. When requested by the client, we can also help coordinate third-party laboratory testing against applicable standards.

For example, depending on the product and testing requirements, this may include EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3, or relevant phthalate testing for certain products intended for the European market.

Testing arrangements, scope, and costs are discussed and confirmed according to each project’s requirements.
